Today, I did something that I don’t normally do.
I bought graphic novels from an actual real life bookstore.
Not an online bookstore.
Or a seconds bookstore.
But a real, “we-charge-at-least-$30-for-a-new-release” bookstore!
I am of the ‘online’ buying type. Why? Because books are cheaper online! And sure, they sting you with the shipping, but even with the shipping, and the waiting (which I find, geekily, thrilling!) it’s still more worth buying online then it is buying at a real bookstore.
So, today, I was having a sublimely crappy day, and my Mum decided to shout me a couple of books in order to life my spirits. I was beside myself at her generosity, and I got myself a few of Daniel Clowes’s new ones. Here’s my booty (also note my amazingly cool Asian store-bought plastic table-cloth cover – all you do is wipe it down! Ingenious!)
I am now cultivating quite a collection, and if I wasn’t such a flippin’ slow reader, I would have posted SO many more reviews and quirky things about each and every book that I owned – which I would have read being a fast reader and all. But alas, for now, I shall put them on my bookshelf and dream of reading them some day.
Oh, and bring on July so I can get some graphic novels for my Birthday already! grr!
